Aaron Donald broke the Rams’ single-season record for sacks on Thursday night, totaling 15.5 during his team’s 29-23 win over the Chiefs.

Aaron Donald currently holds the franchise record for most consecutive games played.
At 3:29 of the third quarter, with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson attempting to elude the pressure, Donald did something he’s done brilliantly throughout his career: collect a sack.
However, his sack on Thursday Night Football cemented his place in the Los Angeles Rams’ record books.
On 3rd and 5, “A.D” had sack No. 88.5, putting him in first place all-time in Rams history.
Despite playing in an age when a sack was classified as simply a tackle, Deacon Jones is thought to have more career sacks. Donald, on the other hand, considers himself fortunate to have received the record.
“That was a pleasant experience.” It’s a blessing,” Donald said after the Rams’ 26-17 victory on the road, which can be heard around the 24:30 point of the postgame presser video. “It’s much sweeter when you achieve something like that after winning your division.” On the road, we found a way to win.”

Who was the previous owner of the franchise mark?
According to Pro Football Reference and the Rams’ official website, Leonard Little was the club’s leading sack leader.
Little, 46, spent his entire career with the Rams, all of which he spent in St. Louis, racking up 87.5 career sacks between 1998 and 2009.
Little was a member of the Rams’ Super Bowl-winning squad in 2000, but he only appeared in six games. Little, on the other hand, emerged as the Rams’ best pass rusher two seasons later, with 14.5 sacks as the team won the NFC championship.
Donald and Little are the only Rams to reach the milestone of 80 sacks in club history. Kevin Greene, who died in 2007, is ranked third on the list with a score of 72.5. Kevin Carter is fourth on the list with 62.5 points, followed by Robert Quinn with 62.5 points.
Donald has 16 sacks in 16 career games against the NFC West rival Seahawks, for a total of 88.5 sacks. That includes the two he had in the NFC Wildcard playoff victory in January 2021, which he had by a score of 30-20.

Donald’s Contribution to the TNF Battle
What kind of presence did Donald have? For begin, he was assigned to two teams…literally.
Outside of the pass rush, Donald had a similar effect. Donald maintains his hips squared, stretches his arms aggressively, and puts his hands on Damien Lewis’ numbers…gaining the upper hand as he helps block the lane and cause the turnover on downs, as captured by DLine Vids.
Donald had a total of seven tackles on the night, including five solo stops and the sack. He also stuffed two plays below the line of scrimmage and swatted one pass…the one that caused Russell Wilson to leave the game.
Sean McVay, the head coach, presented two game balls to the players after the victory. The first went to Robert Woods, who hauled in 12 receptions for a total of 150 yards. What about the other? The Rams’ newest sack leader, who also performed the “Family” break thereafter.
