Yam Madar of the Boston Celtics is leaving the country. After a strong start in the Las Vegas Summer League, Boston’s 2020 second-round draftee sustained a groin injury, ending his summer in Vegas, and is now moving to Partizan NIS from Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Madar signed a three-year contract with the Serbian basketball team, according to Eurohoops.com. Throughout 2021-22, the 20-year-old talent is anticipated to be drafted and stashed.

Yam had an instant impact in his Summer League debut, scoring eight points, grabbing two rebounds, and dishing out two assists in 17 minutes against the Atlanta Hawks. It gave Celtics supporters hope that the worldwide phenomenon known as “The Israeli Steph Curry” was on his way to the NBA.

Yam Madar Turns Down a Two-Way Contract With The Celtics

The Celtics reportedly offered Madar a two-way deal, which he declined, according to Eran Soroka of Sport5. Yam’s NBA rights will be retained by Boston, who may bring him back to the United States if they chose to buy him out of his current contract.

In three games, Madar averaged 4.7 points and 1.7 rebounds.

The Celtics’ Summer League season came to an end on a sad note. The Sacramento Kings dominated the Boston Celtics in the final game, which the Celtics lost 100-67.

In the Summer League Final, Davion Mitchell of the Kings crushes Payton Pritchard of the Celtics.

Even Payton Pritchard wasn’t able to rescue the youthful C’s. Pritchard returned to the club after an excused leave to play against Baylor University star Davion Mitchell and the Sacramento Kings in the Portland Pro-Am basketball league, where he scored a total 149 points in two games.

The Kings’ ninth-round pick not only spent the night putting the defensive clamps on Pritchard, but he also forced Payton to make six turnovers while shooting 0-for-6 from outside the arc. The offense of Boston struggled tremendously.

They shot 39 percent from the field, including 19.4 percent from beyond the arc, where they made 7-of-36 tries and had an astounding 28 turnovers.

“29, don’t sell us short,” Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla remarked, referring to an allegedly out-of-date box score. “They had aggressive hands and put a lot of pressure on the ball. In terms of physicality and the way they ran in transition, I felt we were pretty much the same squad going into the game. Today, they essentially defeated us at our own game.”

Louis King led Sacramento with 21 points, including 3-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc and 5 steals, while Jahmi’us Ramsey scored 16 points and Mitchell had 9 points and 7 assists. Carsen Edwards led the Celtics with 15 points, Aaron Nesmith added 12 points, and Pritchard added six points to his eight assists and six rebounds.

During his media appearance, Coach Mazzulla discussed Pritchard’s difficulties.

After the game, Mazzulla stated, “I should have placed him in better positions against. the blitz for him to make the correct read.” “Davion is an excellent defender. Payton is a fantastic player, and it’s a battle between two strong teams. I believe they got the better of us; I don’t believe there’s much more to it.”
