The first Cherry trailer has arrived. Last week, the Russo brothers teased the upcoming film with a clip of Tom Holland joining the military. The trailer contains elements of this clip, but it all starts to fade away as Cherry begins to awaken her nightmarish premonitions about the future. According to Joe Russo, you can get a glimpse of the incredible Dutch acting and range he shows as an actor in the film. I think you can see him growing from a teenager to a mature actor. Cherry has since the 26th. In February at select locations and will be released on the 12th. Works on Apple TV+.

This Apple TV+ Original follows the wild journey of a disenfranchised young man from Ohio who meets the love of his life, only to lose it through a series of bad decisions and difficult life circumstances. Inspired by the bestselling novel of the same name, Cherry portrays Tom Holland in the title role of a troubled character who goes from college to Iraq as an army doctor, relying on his one true love, Emily (Ciara Bravo). When Cherry returns home as a war hero, he struggles with the demons of undiagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder and becomes addicted to a gang of depraved people. Cherry runs out of money and robs banks to finance his addiction. By doing so, she ruins her relationship with Emily. Cherry is a darkly humorous and uncompromising story about a man in a universal search for meaning and human connection, brought to the screen by visionary directors Anthony and Joe Russo.

POWERFUL : The Avengers: Endgame’s managers probably couldn’t have done the cherry-picking without Tom Holland.

Tom Holland had already worked with the Russo brothers in the Marvel Cinematic universe, so they already knew they had solid chemistry and a foundation for Cherry. We needed an actor who could take the audience on an emotional journey, says Joe Russo. And there are few actors who can do it as well as Tom Holland. The young actor is still playing the role of Peter Parker for Sony and the MCU as he expands his horizons on the big screen.

Thanks to his solid performance in Cherry, an Oscar nomination for Tom Holland was whispered. After leaving Avengers: In the end, the Russo brothers could do almost anything. This line of thinking first led her to write Nico Walker’s novel Cherry, which is loosely based on her own life. And when we read this novel, it spoke to us with such power and personality, and we felt it was about this ongoing crisis. In particular, the Russians are tackling the opiate epidemic by studying post-traumatic stress disorder.

Joe Russo continued: We are aware of the existential difficulties that largely engulfed the Midwest and laid the groundwork for the opiate epidemic. We know many people close to us who have been affected by the epidemic. The film duo negotiated the rights to Cherry while Nico Walker was in prison for a bank robbery. Tom plays a character who makes self-destructive choices, but he’s so charismatic and likable, says Joe Russo. It was important to us that the public share the journey with them in making this decision.

The film is told in six chapters, with Tom Holland in four different roles as the main character. Joe and I have always considered ourselves alchemists. We love to mix up ridiculous ideas and watch them change and surprise us, says Anthony Russo. Things get really slippery when you break things that don’t normally go together. And it’s exciting for us creatively. As it stands, Cherry looks like an emotional roller coaster that will unfortunately hit many viewers at home as the opiate crisis continues to rage in the United States.

Cherry is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a script by Angela Russo-Otstot and Jessica Goldberg. In addition to Tom Holland and Ciara Bravo, the film also features Jack Reynor, Michael Rispoli, Jeff Wahlberg, Forrest Luck and Michael Gandolfini. It is produced by Christy Grisham, Judd Payne, Wang Zhongzhong, Wang Zhonglei, Edward Cheng, Patrick Newall, Angela Russo Otstot, Todd Macurat, Dan Kaplow, Nico Walker and Matthew Johnson.
