Cynthia Erivo has unveiled a new poster for her upcoming television series about the life of Aretha Franklin, which shows her transformation into a queen of the soul.
In October 2019 it was announced that Cynthia Aretha, nominated by Oscar, will appear in the series Genius anthology of National Geographic.
The series already covers the life of physicist Albert Einstein in the first season, played by Geoffrey Rush, and that of artist Pablo Picasso in the second season, played by Antonio Banderas.
On Friday, star Harriet Cynthia celebrated her 34th birthday. Birthday.
To mark the occasion, she shared a photo of herself in a dazzling, jewel-like dress as the late icon Aretha, who died in August 2018 at the age of 76.
Today is my birthday, and I couldn’t be prouder to tell the story of the Queen of Soul, Cynthia wrote in the legend.
She sang songs for feelings our hearts couldn’t find words for. She told stories with melodies they weave together and was not afraid to tell the truth.
The actor added music to his contribution by playing in the background the powerful interpretation of Aretha from Border Song (Saint Moses), released in 1970.

Though genius: Aretha’s release was originally scheduled for 2020, but had to be suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The production of the series ended in November 2020. For this occasion a cheerful picture of Cynthia, dressed as Aretha, was placed on Instagram.
The post also revealed that the show will be aired on National Geographic next March.
The fourth episode of Genius tells the story of Martin Luther King Jr. and is broadcasted on Disney Plus.
Next to Genius: Aretha, another account of Aretha’s life, is also in preparation.
Dream girl Jennifer Hudson will play the role of the singer in an upcoming film called Respect, to be released later this year.

Jennifer was anointed by Aretha herself to play her in the biopic, it was unveiled in January 2018, seven months before the death of the singer Natural Woman.
Cynthia and Jennifer played the lead role in the Broadway production of The Color Purple in 2015.
Genius: Aretha will be broadcast on National Geographic in March 2021.
