Nintendo has yet to officially announce its new hybrid console, but that hasn’t stopped retailers from setting their pre-order prices. The price of the Switch Pro has already started being set, though. Best Buy Canada has put out an official price for the Switch Pro, with the package including a separate dock, extra Joy-Con controllers, the console itself, and a subscription to Netflix for three months.
Nintendo has unveiled the newest version of its handheld console, the Nintendo Switch. The Switch is a hybrid device that can be played as a tablet, a home console, or a handheld. It’s one of the most versatile and innovative devices on the market. Unfortunately, it also has a high price tag. The Switch will cost $300 at launch, and odds are it’ll be back in stock very quickly.
Last week, we asked you if you’d pay more for the Switch Pro than the standard Switch. The survey was pretty clear: 80% of you said that you’d pay the extra $80. It turns out that Nintendo and its partners are listening, with a $100 price difference announced for the 2.0 Pro. The standard Switch will still go for $299, and the Pro will be bundled with a right-handed Joy-Con controller for $50 more.

Reading the information on
, I’m surprised that so many good sources are convinced that the Switch Pro exists and will be released soon. If it gets more expensive than the current model, we’re probably talking £300-350? That’s a lot of money when you can buy the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition for just £360. But it’s Nintendo, so if they support the games, which they usually do, I don’t see why the game wouldn’t be as successful.
I think the graphics will be PlayStation 4 standard at best, or maybe PS4 Pro? Without the specs, it’s hard to say, but I’ve watched videos of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and the graphics are so good…. But every Ratchet & Clank game I’ve played has been boring.
Imagine if Nintendo games looked as good as PlayStation games – it would be gaming heaven! I think we’ll get there eventually, even if Nintendo is still a generation or two behind, because it’s frustrating to see such beautiful graphics wasted on relatively uninteresting games.

As expected
Well, I can’t say you didn’t warn me. It looks like Sega is planning a typically lean 30th anniversary celebration for Sonic, even with Covid’s delays. The Sonic Colours remaster, the Sonic Origins compilation (at least Sonic 3 & Knuckles was included) and the untitled Sonic Team game are literally the last people you want to see developing a new game.
I think at this point I’m pinning my hopes on a sequel to this film, which theoretically has a lot going for it. I don’t know if it’s common knowledge, but the first movie wasn’t designed with Sonic in mind. A friend of mine worked on the marketing team, and the film was well into development as a normal mid-budget live-action/CGI hybrid before the Sonic character was added – so there aren’t as many references to the games themselves as you might expect. The sequel seems to focus more on the history of the 16-bit era and might just make up for the first game’s shortcomings.
That’s it. As one Sonic cycle comes to a disappointing end, a new one begins: cycle 8. April 2022.

Lack of characters
I don’t see Virtua Fighter 5 suddenly becoming a hit for the obvious reason that all of its characters are totally boring, to the point that calling them characters would be a gross exaggeration. That’s why it easily overshadowed Tekken. Tekken had vivid scenes and engaging characters that you loved. Virtua Fighter has Ne-Ryu, Ninja, and a woman… and they are the most famous!
It’s a shame, because Virtua Fighter is without a doubt the best action game, by far the best 3D game, and that’s no mistake. I suppose there’s a chance it could get into fighting game tournaments, but it’s a game where the action is fun but the visuals aren’t, and I don’t know if games like this are popular for that reason.
Virtual Fighter was supposed to have a spin-off story to solve this problem, but it became Shenmue, so I’m not sure it would have worked.

I’m dying to play
Wow, this transfer from Dying Light 2 was really embarrassing. I don’t know if sitting uncomfortably for 10 minutes and pretending to talk non-stop was the right decision, but at least the game went well. I was one of those who thought the film would be quietly cancelled. So it’s a good thing he’s still out there and looking good.
The battles look really fun, I liked the dropkick, and I like the idea that the game changes a lot depending on your choices – it almost feels like it’s trying to outdo Mass Effect in that regard. The only thing that didn’t convince me were the jumps, they seemed a bit off, but overall I was impressed.
I hope this works out, because I really liked the original, but I admit it wasn’t very impressive and wasn’t everything it could have been. But that’s what prosecutions are for, right? And even GC liked what he saw in the previews, even though he didn’t like the original.

Dragon Quest 12 – for adults? I thought it was supposed to be for everyone? I understand they need all that American money, but it seems like a bad idea from the start. It will be Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, but for sensual Japanese roleplayers?
I really love the series, and the only reason I’m not completely disappointed is because the Dragon Quest 3 remake looks amazing. It’s similar to Octopath Traveler, but this time it’s not all brown! However, I don’t understand why we can’t get an offline version of Dragon Quest 10 here.

I love the idea that we don’t know what Microsoft (or Nintendo) will announce at E3. I hope that means it’s something unexpected and not the other obvious explanation that they have nothing to show for it. We all know what games Microsoft is working on that may or may not be shown, but there are likely to be other secret announcements.
I can’t believe they won’t at least make an effort to show Japanese support and something else to try and undermine Sony. Maybe some kind of streaming announcement and/or a merger with a big company like Samsung or Google (Stadia is already dead, so why not merge with Microsoft?)
I agree that Microsoft has never looked good at E3, but this time they have all the competition they need, and Sony probably won’t be there anyway. Although I bet they have a conference in a few days. They’ve always beaten Microsoft by being number two and having an answer to everything the Xbox does, and I doubt this time will be any different.

pointed out, I’m very surprised that after the excellent Resident Evil 7, the quality of Resident Evil Village has dropped. It looks like he’s just walking around waiting for something to happen. Don’t get me wrong, with the right approach this can generate a lot of enthusiasm. It seems that in this case, the developers did not have the chance to refine and improve the product.
Maybe the pandemic has affected the quality? Who knows? It’s also very light, very short, and uses frustrating level design paths: Abseiling, long lift sections, blocked paths, invisible walls, etc. Well, maybe Resident Evil 9 is back in shape!

Appreciate the Evil
I know the tendency seems to be to complain about things, but as a bit of a counterargument : The Resident Evil Village game on the PlayStation 5 is awesome, I really love it.
The setting on 7 can be varied, this movie gave me goosebumps several times, and Duke is pretty creepy too.
I thought I would meet the final boss, but I just explored another large area, no spoilers.
The lighting on the PlayStation 5 is fantastic, I think the game looks great.
After playing Metro Exodus on the PlayStation 4, where it took two to five minutes to start the game from the home screen, it takes about 20 seconds in the Village. And to keep the game on the device takes about one, always impressive.
The controller is also excellent. The triggers when aiming a sniper rifle are a great addition.
It’s the only console game I have right now, although I’m looking forward to Ratchet & Clank next month. Except Astro’s playroom, of course. This is without a doubt the happiest video game experience I’ve had in 44 years.
