It is not often that a television show is released in Canada before the United States, but Hallmark Channel has always managed to do things a little differently. That changes this year, as the network has announced that the fourth season of When Calls the Heart will be the first to be broadcast in Canada before it is released to the rest of the United States.
In a tweet yesterday, Hallmark Channel CEO Kate Collins spoke about the upcoming second season of the Canadian drama series “When Hope Calls” (the first season starred Kim Delaney and Shemar Moore). According to Collins, the show has some “big differences” from the first season. “It’s a bit more mature and darker than last year’s series.”

Although the fate of the series is still in doubt, Hallmark’s executive producer recently shared a tweet that revived fans’ hopes for a return of the series.

Perhaps When Hope Calls didn’t reach the same audience as When the Heart Calls, simply because the series aired on Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now, rather than on the Hallmark channel. However, the full first season of When Hope Calls aired on Hallmark Channel, with the series premiering on the 23rd. February 2020. It also coincided with the release of a book based on the series.
