Rolex 24 Hour Daytona 2021 Preview

A total of 50 cars will participate in the 2021 Rolex 24 at Daytona this year. With twenty teams, the GTD is the organization with the largest number of participants. The LMP2 class has 10, the DPI class has 7, the new LMP3 class also has 7 and the GTLM class has 6.

During the annual opening ceremony of the competition, the excitement is palpable among the riders who want to get back into the swing of things after a full year in 2020:

Personally, I look forward to the Rolex race weekends. More than any race weekend I can remember. I am looking forward to my first Michelin Pilot Challenge Series race and my third consecutive Rolex 24 Hours, said Ryan Hardwick.

It is a very deep field with great competitors, and the top 5 will be a real challenge, added competitor Patrick Long.

I can’t wait to come back here next weekend to take part in the 24 hour race. The whole team did a great job to get us back on the field so we could run a qualifying race. The car was well prepared for this event. We now have a few days for them to fully prepare the new car. I can’t wait to get back on track. We hope for a good result and a good finish, said Klaus Bachler, who will also be on the grid.
