The space laboratory, orbiting 227 nautical miles above the Earth, has become a global platform where scientists from all over the world are working towards a common goal. On the International Space Station, the American astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts wrote on 2. November 2000 History, when they became the first inhabitants of the station. They were NASA astronauts William Shepard and Russian cosmonauts Yuri Gidzenko and Sergei Krikalev. This is Expedition 1, which takes 136 days.

The last group is part of Expedition 64, Kate Rubins’ NASA team with the Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Sergey Kud-Sverchkov.

They arrived on the 14th. October, and it was the second expedition for Rubins and Ryshikov. So far, 241 people from 19 countries have been welcomed aboard ISS. The space laboratory is the result of cooperation between 15 countries. It is an example of how people who have had the courage to rise above their political ideology have created something for the world.

CNN quotes Kud-Sverchkov – Since the birthday is Monday, we will celebrate it by working hard. And we’ll remember who flew here for 20 years and the 63 expeditions that took place here before us. We really appreciate it.

The space station – a scientific advantage

Aviation has always fascinated people, and the dreams of Icarus and Daedalus came true when the Wright brothers took to the air for the first time in 1903.

Then the Russian dog Laika invaded space in 1957, the Russian cosmonaut Tereshkova in 1963 and Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, in 1969. Gradually, people began to explore the unexplored zone of space. Your view of the moon and Mars through unused natural resources.

The key role is played by the trio – renewable energy, robotics and artificial intelligence. According to CNN, crews of international space stations have made countless trips into space to maintain the space station. This made them feel alone and confident in someone else’s environment.

First days on the space station

Sergei Krikalew is one of the Russian cosmonauts who arrived at the International Space Station during the first expedition. When they arrived, they started the base. They turned on the lights, prepared a hot drink and spent two days in the Russian Capsule Union. The team consisted of three members. The other two are NASA astronaut William Shepard and Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gidzenko. At a recent press conference, Mr. Shepherd said they still have multiple hands. He says there’s a new challenge every day. In the initial phase, most of the work consisted of completing the space laboratory. As a result, attention has shifted to research. By the way, the first tenants started a tradition that lasted two decades.

They had to eat together to bring them together, regardless of their origin or faith. In fact, the International Space Station grows lettuce and green leaves in space. In 2015 they tried the first salad grown in space, and now they are working on growing more vegetables. This success would be useful for space missions. In February 2018, proposals were made to place the space laboratory in private hands.

Space laboratory in the service of science

According to the Washington Post, the International Space Station is getting older and older. His systems continue to send signals about his condition. There are external threats as well as micrometeorites and space debris. There have been three possible attacks this year, and in 2016 a space debris damaged one of the windows.

This beautiful structure should sink one day and eventually fall into the sea. CNN reports that NASA approved the space station until 2024 and its equipment until 2028. It is currently being used as a platform for the Artemis programme to bring people back to the moon by 2024 and for a future mission to Mars with a humanoid crew. Russia plans to launch something similar to the ISS in April. In December 2017 it was reported that the space station could accommodate a Russian luxury hotel.
