The Rams held their annual preseason golf tournament this week, and one of the highlights of the event was a live interview with quarterback Jared Goff.
The first preseason game for the London Ram’s was played on Thursday night in London, ON. Many London fans are quite excited to see what the Ram’s staff has in store for this season.
The CFL’s Los Angeles Ram’s are set to kick off their 2018 season this week at the Stub Hostage in Montreal (they open the season on Friday night at home against the Alouettes). Here’s a look at the team’s roster.. Read more about rams schedule 2021 and let us know what you think.
During an August 2020 team scrimmage at SoFi Stadium, Bryce Perkins speaks with offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell. In the Los Angeles Rams’ preseason opener against the Chargers on Saturday night, Perkins will share signal-caller reps with Delvin Hodges.
Bryce Perkins and Delvin Hodges are the third and fourth quarterback possibilities on the Los Angeles Rams’ unofficial depth chart.
However, come Saturday night at 7 p.m. PT, both guys will be in charge of the majority of the quarterback duties.
With QB1 Matthew Stafford out and John Wolford recovering from an appendectomy, the Rams will turn to the former Virginia Cavalier and Samford Bulldog in their preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Perkins, an undrafted free agent who joined the Rams in 2020, told reporters on Friday that he’s excited to lead the team’s offense.
Perkins told the Los Angeles reporters, “I’m ready, for real.” “My legs play an important role in my game. So I’ll have a chance to do both and show off what I’ve got in terms of speed. I’m all set.”
Hodges is looking forward to his first live game since Week 17 against the Baltimore Ravens, when he was a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“I didn’t get to participate in any (preseason games) last year,” Hodges said. “It’s a blessing to be here, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Perkins takes a methodical approach to breaking through plays.
Perkins acknowledged to reporters a year ago as an undrafted rookie from Charlottesville, Virginia, that he struggled with the language of the sideline calls before snapping the football.
“I remember hearing some of the play calls last year and thinking to myself, ‘There’s no way I’ll be able to get these play calls down,’” she says. According to Perkins.
What a difference a year, plus three preseason games, makes. According to Perkins, he has picked up the language of the Rams’ plays and playbook.
Perkins stated, “But now I feel very comfortable hearing the play call and going up there and executing.” “That alone enables you to play at a quicker pace. We all know that when you relieve some of the pressure of having to think a lot as quarterback, you perform better.”
He’ll also be taking photos in front of the crowd, which is a first for SoFi Stadium, which last year used cardboard cutouts and no supporters in the stands owing to the danger of coronavirus.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun. “I know the energy will be high,” Perkins said. “Everyone is locked in and ready to go. The coaches are excellent in preparing us.”

Hodges has high hopes for his team.
Hodges hasn’t played in the NFL since December of 2019, so it’s been 20 months since he last saw action. And, like Perkins, he’s had to learn the Rams’ offense’s vocabulary and structure.
However, as he points out, the repeated repetitions at training camp have prepared him for the preseason and when the Rams need him.
“Reps are the method to learn when you enter into a new system,” Hodges told reporters on Thursday. “The more repetitions you get, the better you get each day. You just get more at ease. Each rep is a chance to improve.”
Against former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley and the Bolts, head coach Sean McVay is obviously not expecting Perkins and Hodges to pass for 300 yards. Rather, he wants them to savor the moment.
“I think it’s just smart offensive operation: being excellent distributors of the football, getting us in and out as some of the appropriate looks, and really just having fun,” McVay said. “I believe it’s important to remember yourself to enjoy the moment, play to your greatest potential, try to play with a calm mind, and let the other 10 players around you assist you. I’m looking forward to seeing both of those players perform well.”
Hodges, on the other hand, has greater hopes for the battle of Los Angeles.
“All we want is for us to win.” Just show L.A. who the SoFi Stadium home team is,” he added.
