LeBron James and Patrick Williams…

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers won a fierce battle against the Chicago Bulls Friday night. Terminal 117-115 Lake Shaw.

James led the Anthony Davis Lakers with 28 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, while the Bulls had 38 points thanks to Zach LaVine, who missed a misplaced shot with 10 seconds left on the clock that would have given the Bulls the lead. As the top players on both teams, much of Friday’s action revolved around 19-year-old bulls rookie Patrick Williams.

Choosing number 4 had the difficult task of keeping James for most of the evening. While James clearly proved he was a champion, Williams persevered and earned enormous respect for his efforts, frame and performance.

James: Chicago is doing well

James beat Williams on almost every possession the rookie had to deal with.

But Williams made it work for buckets. James had a suspension shot that worked like a well-oiled machine, and later in the game, he just made his way to the basket for a series of crucial finishes.

But after the game was over, this is what he said about the young head man of the Bulls.

I think he’ll be extraordinarily talented. Long arms. He’s got hands like Kawhi’s, I saw him on the floor, so I knew I couldn’t play much. You could say he’s very sharp and he’s trying to get better. He didn’t say anything. I don’t say much on the field when I compete with individuals unless they ask me to. He stuck to the game plan. I think it will continue to improve. He’s got a big interlude, but you can see his hands, Kawhi-like hands. He will enjoy it all season and his entire career. Chicago’s got a good one. He just needs to get better and see what happens.

You can hear the full answer and question in the video below. This is the last question from James’ post-game session.

Williams: I got better tonight

As James said, Williams turned out to be a man of few words. When asked about his experience as James’ custodian, Willims simply replied: I feel better tonight.

Williams spoke well about his experience, but his attitude remains as positive as the signs we see in his game on the field. He didn’t shoot well, but he worked hard on the glass and defended. Williams’ count at the end of the game: 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Williams was a bit too hesitant to make open jumps, but you can accept that if most of what he brought on Friday was strong.

The game and the presence of Williams is another reason to be excited about the current Bulls team.
