The legendary Star Wars character is back for Mandalorian’s second last season, now aired on Disney+. In Chapter 16: Bounty hunters Dean Jarin (Pedro Pascal) and Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) recruit Mandalorians Bo-Katan Kreise (Kati Sackhoff) and Cosca Reeves (Mercedes Varnado) to infiltrate the imperial light cruiser Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and rescue the captured Groga. In exchange for their help, the Mandalorians will keep Gideon’s ship to bring back Mandalore, and Kryze will take back the old weapon that was stolen from him: The black sword. Help me save the baby, Dean, and you can have what you want. He’s my only priority.
With Kara Dune (Gina Carano) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), Gideon’s Droid garrison fights the forces of Darkness. When Dr. Pershing (Omid Abtahi), a captured clone engineer, discovers that the child is being kept in the cell under armed guard, Krys formulates a plan to mobilize the crowd.
Kryze will leave with Koska, Fennec and Dune to neutralize the launcher and make his way through the Storm Empire Legion as a distraction – allowing Din to slip into the shadows and take the baby with him.
When Dean confronts and defeats the Black Lightsaber swinging Gideon with the pure bescar given to him by Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), he becomes the rightful owner of the Black Lightsaber. When a platoon of almost invulnerable Dark Troopers deploy Dean’s group in the control center of the cruiser, a single X-Wing lands aboard the ship.
There’s a passenger disembarking. The mysterious man in the black hood lights his lightsaber and pierces the dark troops with a ricochet of dynamite fire. Krys recognizes the weapons and maneuvers of the Jedi, whose shiny green leaf can cut an entire battalion of Battle Droids in an instant.
The purring green leaf buzzes and splits the power of Gideon, who is accustomed to cutting everything the man’s hand with the hood can’t handle. In the control room, a distraught Gideon opens fire on Grog, who saves Dean by throwing his armored body in front of the child. When Dune catches the defeated Gédéon for the second time, the whistle of the lightsaber stops at the last survivors.
The dean orders the doors to be opened, showing a silhouette with a hood that is only illuminated by the still glowing green leaf. An alien removes his weapons and hoods, revealing Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).
Are you a Jedi? Dean asks, knowing the answer. Me, says Anakin Skywalker’s son. He gently reaches out his hand to Grog and says he’s coming with the baby.
If the kid hesitates, Luke tells Dean: He needs your permission. He is strong with the Force, but talent without training is nothing. I’d give my life to protect this child, but he won’t be safe until he’s mastered his powers.
Dean takes Groga in his arms, perhaps for the last time, and looks at him with his own eyes as he takes off his Mandalorian helmet. Okay, buddy, Dean said, cheek hidden from grog, it’s time to go.
The clan currently consists of two parts, with Grogu heading towards the slightly rusty astromech R2-D2 Droid. Kiss Groga, Luke says to Dean: May the Force be with you. With his mission accomplished, the dean watches the child being picked up by Master Skywalker.
The Mandalorians will return to Disney+ with season 3 in 2021.
