Olivia Buckland starred on the 2016 season of Love Island with now-husband Alex Bowen, but despite finding love, the actress has revealed she battled with body image problems after her appearance on the popular ITV2 program.
Alex and Olivia married in 2018 and are now working on remodeling their Essex home together.
Fans like the reality star for her openness on social media and her message of body acceptance.
She has now come up about how difficult it was for her to deal with the continuous criticism from social media users.

‘Even when I came out on the night, some of the hatred and remarks were absolutely terrible,’ she added.
‘I remember being small when I first came out, and I believe I dropped around a stone and a half because I was so worried.’

‘I recall seeing photos of myself taken while working out, and thinking to myself, “Oh God, I look so bad.” These photos were used to label me obese on the internet.’
‘I was around eight stone, maybe seven and a half,’ she said. I was teeny-tiny, and I was chilly all the time. And I believed I was [fat] when I looked at the photos.’
Olivia isn’t the first Love Island star who has spoken out about the online harassment she has received as a result of the program exposing her to the public eye.
Brett Staniland, who was kicked from the island last week, has been the target of “unstoppable” taunting.

Scott, his identical twin brother, who handled his social media while he was in the villa, told News how tough it was to maintain accounts.
Scott said, “I’m his identical twin, so whatever I see about his looks or what he’s like, I take it so personally.”
‘It’s also relentless, and it’s a very strange place online, this lack of consequence for saying anything out loud online when you’re at home with your piece of plastic in your hand,’ she says.
Alex and Olivia have been together for almost five years and came in second place on Love Island in their season.
On Instagram, the couple’s house account, @thebowenhome, has 735k followers.
