Readers will find their favorite games from Grand Theft Auto, including some unusual variants like Liberty City Stories and the very first game.

Some time ago, I participated in reading the accounts of Grand Theft Auto and I was worthy of an original remake when the series celebrated its 25th anniversary. Grand Theft Auto has appeared on a variety of platforms, but here are five of my favorite Grand Theft Auto games of all time that will forever remain classics of the series.

Grand Theft Auto (PS1)

The original PlayStation system came out in 1996 and Rockstar North is still called DMA Design. When Grand Theft Auto was first released, it offered an experience that no player expected. With an open and explorable world and the ability to choose what you want to do, it was a song that people couldn’t help but play over and over again.

You may remember the playable demo that came with the official PlayStation magazine that you could play over and over again, even with a timer. Shortly after, however, PC players created a patch to remove the timer and enjoy the demo without restrictions.

I remember exploring the city when the console version still had a demo timer and finding hidden missions after the full game was released. Even while we were listening to the radio stations, it was fun to walk around in the car and explore the city. The first GTA is one of my favourites from the whole series.

Grand Theft Auto: City of Morals (PS2/Xbox/PC)

With the release of the PlayStation 2 came GTA 3, which offered an open 3D world with improved graphics and functionality. He did not disappoint, but while it is an amazing title, it was a pale reflection of his successor in the Greater Toronto Area : Vice City. Vice City has made some unexpected updates over its predecessor: Helicopters, motorcycles, new weapons, additional radios and interiors of buildings available – and also the first opportunity to acquire goods.

There were more missions available than in GTA 3, and there was also access to boats and a seaplane. Because of this, Vice City has become more popular than GTA 3, selling more copies than its predecessor. GTA : Vice City celebrates its 20th anniversary in October 2022, and it will be interesting to see what, if anything, Rockstar has planned for that date.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City and Vice City stories (PS2/PSP)

Originally developed for the PlayStation Portable, this spin-off featured new stories, new characters and new radio stations. Both games eventually made it to the PlayStation 2, but remain among the least known games in the series.

Grand Theft Auto 5

If there’s one thing Rockstar has done brilliantly with this title, it’s the fact that you have multiple main characters, each with their own unique missions and abilities. This added a unique type of gameplay to the series and ensured that players didn’t have to get bored with the story mode, with random events for each character and unique side missions and friend missions to complete.

Each character has their own vehicle, as well as interesting in-game features like the handbag and the ability to take in-game photos with your phone. GTA Online continues to grow with major DLCs such as Heists, Assets, Nightclubs and Rooms. GTA 5 is on my list of favorites, but I also give GTA an honorable mention: San Andreas.

These are my favorite GTA games, and I look forward to the future of GTA Online and future versions of the new Grand Theft Auto games. Whatever the future holds for GTA Online, it will certainly be very interesting and ahead of GTA players.

frequently asked questions

Are all GTA games connected to each other?

You could say that all games fall into the same universe. The older games of the GTA 3 era, namely GTA 3, Viceroy, San Andreas, Viceroy City History and Freedom City History were based on the same periods, with all games contributing to the larger story.

Which Greater Toronto Area game has the best scenario?

GTA : San Andreas is historically the best game in the series. Once you’ve taken CJ’s (Carl Johnson) place, you’ll travel the world of San Andreas and take part in gang wars learning the importance of family values and friendship.

What is the most difficult game in the Greater Toronto Area?

The easiest ones are GTA V and CTW. The hardest are GTA 1 and GTA 2, because of the camera, the controls and of course the weapons. As mission design, controls and gameplay improve, games become simpler…. If you had the controls and gameplay of GTA V or IV for GTA III or SA missions, it would be much easier….
