The New York Jets are on the verge of turning things around and becoming one of the top teams in all-time franchise history, according to coach Adam Gase. The team has a quarterback that is locked up through 2021 and two first round picks next year as well as four other selections beyond that. When you consider their division rivals like Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, it’s not hard to see why they could be poised for success sooner rather than later.
The “jets head coach history” is a historic turnaround that the Jets are on the verge of making. The team has been in the bottom five for years, but new coach Adam Gase believes they can make it into the top 10.

Some believe the New York Jets will miss the playoffs for the 11th consecutive season in 2021.
At 1-5, the squad is buried in mediocrity, and things aren’t going to get any better against the top-seeded Cincinnati Bengals, who are coming off a huge win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Although, according to one NFL coach, the green and white will turn things around sooner rather than later.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor was questioned about the matchup between the Bengals and the Jets in the weeks leading up to the Week 8 game:
“Coach Robert Saleh will have his players reacting in the proper manner. I’m sure this team can rely on a lot of their San Francisco expertise. They experienced a slew of ailments in their first year, many of which are comparable to the ones they’re suffering with today. We played them near the end of the year, and they began winning a lot of games; at one point, they went on a six-game winning streak. Saleh has gone through this before, and he knows how to get the most out of his men. I see a group on the edge of doing so, and we don’t want it to start with us.”
Taylor was referring to the 49ers’ 0-9 start in 2017, when they seemed to be dead in the water. Then, almost out of nowhere, they won six of their last seven games, including a five-game winning streak to end the year.
Is this an accurate portrayal of the squad from the outside? Is Taylor only speaking nicely because of their shared connective tissue (Sean McVay)? Or is this a freshly prepared dish of coach lingo?
Is a turnaround within the range of possibilities? It’s difficult to tell for sure, but it does start the gears rolling and grooving.

The Jets have the seventh-easiest remaining schedule in the NFL, according to Team Rankings’ strength of schedule.
The green and white have 11 games left on their schedule in 2021. Six of seven opponents are currently.500 or worse, presenting a once-in-a-lifetime chance for a comeback.
The second piece of good news is that future reinforcements will arrive just in time for Gang Green.
CJ Mosley (hamstring) and Jarrad Davis (ankle) are both expected to return to the Jets this week (ankle).
From a leadership and run defense standpoint, the loss of their defensive captain last week cannot be overstated. Since signing a one-year contract with the Jets in the summer, Davis has yet to play a regular-season snap. He was injured in the preseason and hasn’t played since.
Beyond this game against the Bengals, many more reinforcements should arrive in the coming weeks to aid their efforts: Mekhi Becton, Zach Wilson, and perhaps additional linebacker assistance.
All of this might be the ideal mix for the Jets to make a historic and somewhat surprising comeback this season.
