On April 21, 2000, director Steven Spielberg’s remake of the 1971 classic Jaws premiered in theatres across Canada. The film stars Laura Dern as a seemingly helpless victim of a murderous shark. It was a hit with audiences but also garnered a fair amount of controversy. The film’s dialogue is filled with many references to sharks, saying things like, “get it off me,” “it’s a shark; it’s hungry,” or “you scared the shark.”
The first Ouija Shark movie was a box-office flop, so it’s no surprise that the sequel is receiving a cautious release into the world. Indie distributor Broad Green Pictures has announced that Ouija Shark 2 will be released on October 13th, but hasn’t revealed where the film will debut. After the dismal opening of the first film, we can only expect that Ouija Shark 2 will be limited to one or a few screening venues, as the studio is keen to avoid a repeat of the first movie’s performance.

Wild Eye Releasing has revealed that the official sequel to Ouija Shark, which made a sensation with B-movie shark enthusiasts little over a year ago, is now shooting, with principal photography set to wrap this year. To whet fans’ shark-sized appetites, Wild Eye Releasing has shared a few screenshots from the film.
Ouija Shark 2, a collaboration between Wild Eye Releasing and Survival Zombie Films, will see fan favorite John Migliore return as his shield-slinging shark fighter father Anthony, as well as take up directorial responsibilities for the sequel. Kylie Gough (as Illyana) and Simon Wheeldon reprise their roles from the first film (as Caldura). Deborah Jayne Reilly Smith plays Cressida, a fascinating new figure. The film’s dramatic score, as well as several new songs, will be provided by Mike Trebilcock and Semetary Spawn.
The film is chock-full of shark action and effects and promises to provide viewers with even more strange and inter-dimensional craziness than the original. Migliore also wrote the screenplay for the sequel. Creature from Cannibal Creek, about a gang of cold-blooded cannibals who hold victims in cages until they’re ready to be slaughtered, was one of his earlier projects. One of the prisoners manages to flee, but perishes in the nearby woodland. Nature quickly intervenes, resurrecting the former prisoner and transforming him into a ravenous beast.
Also, there’s Exorcism of the Dead, which follows Candace, a disturbed young lady who is possessed by an ambitious demon. Her family has attempted to cure her using every traditional technique available, but both medicine and psychology have failed. They turn to the church for help as a final option. They had no idea that the priest who comes to save them has his own terrible secrets.
Poltergeist Encounters concerns a questionable group of paranormal investigators with their own web series who receive the offer of a lifetime: stay one night in a potentially haunted house for a large sum of money. What could possibly go wrong? It seems like easy money to Anton, team leader of the group, and privately, an unbeliever in the supernatural. Mick, Roach and Terrance are all investigators that take the entire situation far too lightly at first, before everything they believe changes. On that fateful night, they learn that it’s all fun and games until things get real.
Migliore is ecstatic about the sequel to Ouija Shark, stating, “Almost anything is conceivable in the universe of Ouija Shark, which is steeped in both fantasy and the occult. I’m looking forward to delivering a few unexpected twists and turns “.. After playing with a spirit board that washes up on the beach, a gang of teenage girls summons an ancient man-eating shark in the first episode. To finally eliminate this planet of the terrible spirit ghost, an occult expert must enter the shark’s domain.
The working title for Ouija Shark 2 is “Ouija Shark 2.” Anthony is played by John Migliore, Cressida is played by Deborah Jayne Reilly Smith, Illyana is played by Kylie Gough, and Caldura is played by Simon Wheeldon. There is no fixed date for the release.
