Louis Tomlinson’s sister shared in the gentle pitch of former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson as she held her son Freddie in her arms on his fifth birthday.

Louis, 29, shares his son Freddie with his ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth, 28, and celebrated the baby’s birthday on Thursday, while Louis’ sister, Lottie Tomlinson, celebrated her big day on Instagram.

She published rare photos of Freddie in her Instagram, including a sweet black and white photo of Louis with little Freddie as a newborn baby, along with the star’s mother, Johanna Deakin.

In the photo, Louis and his mother – who died of leukemia in December 2016 at the age of 43 – wear big smiles as he holds his bundle of joy. Lottie wrote a heart on the picture.

She shared another smile from Freddie and wished the young man a happy birthday by writing him a letter: Happy birthday, Freddie. Lots of love from Aunt Lottie.

Always love you extra baba, she added with a picture of her and Freddie.

Freddie’s mother, Briana, sent her son a birthday present and said it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

In addition to a series of photos of Freddy taken over the years, Briana wrote that I spent the morning in tears remembering Freddy’s baby photos. I can’t believe he turns five today.

Time’s up. Show how important it is to appreciate each day. Happy birthday to my baby, best thing that ever happened to me.

Louis is known to be very discreet when it comes to Freddie and his personal life, and he rarely talks about it on social media – even though he has talked about what it’s like to be a father in the past.

Speaking at Lorraine in 2019, Louis said the accountability aspect made the process a little easier for me. When I’m with him, it’s just one of those things where you feel so much love that you don’t think about anything else, no matter what.

Louis comes from a large family and is the brother of four sisters: makeup artist Lottie, 22, twins Daisy and Phoebe, 16, and Fénericie, who died of an accidental overdose in 2019 at the age of 18.

Louis opened up about the loss of his mother and sister and said that dealing with his grief had given him strength in other areas of his life.

This whole dark side thing I’ve been going through seems silly, but it gives me strength everywhere in my life because it’s the darkest thing* I have to face, Louis told The Guardian.

That makes everything else lighter and no less important, but in general you see things as they are, I think.

No time to sit around and feel sorry for yourself. I was at my lowest and I feel like no matter what my career has in store for me, it won’t be as important or as emotionally draining, Louis said.

So, strangely enough, I have turned what is really dark into something that gives me strength, makes me stronger.
