SAN LOUIS OBISPO – The Central Coast CA Cancer Community (CSC-CCC) is pleased to announce that Jessica Main is the new Executive Director, succeeding the popular Shannon D’Aquisto. Ms. D’Aquisto recently resigned her position at CSC-CCC to become director of the Hearst Cancer Resource Center in San Luis Obispo. The Board thanks Ms. D’Acquisto for her six years of outstanding service to the organization as Executive Director and for her previous four years on the Board. Main and D’Acquisto welcome the collaboration between these two organizations to serve the community. Ms. Main is an active member of the North County community, where she has served on numerous boards and as CEO of the Templeton Chamber of Commerce.

Main is delighted to take on this new role as Executive Director of CSC-CCC and continue the fantastic work of providing FREE support to cancer patients and their families. CSC-CCC offers weekly support groups, education, fitness programs, hats and wigs, family programs, patient navigation, a hotline, counseling, support groups, resources and much more for anyone dealing with cancer, so no one is alone.

Ms. Mein said she was honored to be chosen to lead the CSC-CCC. I look forward to continuing the mission to ensure that all people dealing with cancer are empowered by knowledge, empowered by action and supported by community.

Main holds a bachelor’s degree in visual communication with a minor in business administration from the University of California, Davis. For 16 years she worked independently for her company, JEM Design, where she designed print and web designs for many businesses in San Luis Obispo County. November 2018. Mayne became CEO of the Templeton Chamber of Commerce and served that organization well until June 2020, when Covid 19 losses forced the Templeton Chamber board to make the difficult decision to fire her. From July to December 2020, Main was the media coordinator and marketing manager for the San Luis Obispo County Registrar’s Office, where he canvassed voters prior to the 3rd District general election. November. Main lives in North County with his two children and enjoys spending time with his animals and participating in three-day horse shows.

The Executive Committee and Board of Directors spent considerable time evaluating candidates and conducted numerous interviews to find the best candidate for the position. Dr Shannon Berry, Chair of the CSC-CCC Board of Directors, stated: We have a great experience with exceptional candidates. It showed us what a wonderful and respected cancer support community we have become here on the Central Coast. I am pleased to welcome our new Director and look forward to the continued growth of CSC under her new leadership.

Although the office is currently open by appointment only and remains socially remote via Zoom, there are plans to begin offering face-to-face classes to individuals in May 2021.
